Why the Pleydell apron dress?

The Pleydell apron dress’s purpose is to give its wearer a dress that is comfortable enough to wear at home, and smart enough to wear to work. It is a perfect example of what to wear while we are partly working from home and partly going in to the workplace.

What makes this product different to other work dresses?

Our apron dress gives you a unique way to wear your clothes at work.  The apron dress can be worn in a variety of workplace settings. If you work in the creative fields: art; architecture; design etc, the apron dress will be right at home. Pair it with chunky cuff bracelets or fashion forward jewellery and accessories and use the Pleydell apron dress as a great base for your individual work style. If you work in a more traditional environment: ofice; large corporate; public sector, the Pleydell apron dress can be teamed with a shirt or black polo neck and look equally smart and professional.

Where can you wear the Pleydell apron dress apart from work?

At Working Frocks we encourage you to have some separation between your work clothes and your home clothes.  We believe this will help you to switch off when you are at home and feel go-getting and focussed while you are at work. We believe this is especially important at the present time, where, due to the pandemic, our home and work lives have merged together.

However, the apron dress can also be worn for other events.  Teamed with a lace top it can be worn for celebratory events, worn with flat boots and a jumper it’s casual enough for the school run.

Additional information -how to wear the Pleydell apron dress

Simply tie the neck ties and pop it over your head.  Fasten the waist ties by slipping the right-hand waist tie through the tie-slot on the left hand garment side.  Pull through and grab the other tie from the back.  Cross the ties over at the front, take them round to the back and bring them to the front to tie.  How easy is that!

Did you know?

The apron dress is one of our earliest garment shapes. Viking records indicate a type of dress called a smokkr which is an early type of apron dress.  Not as stylish as ours but with a much larger dagger attached. For the sake of reassurance ours doesn’t come with any form of implement.
