Setting personal goals with Lose 5, Stylise, Organise

Lose 5, Stylise, Organise

Setting personal goals, and then achieving them, can be hard work especially with everything else that clamours for our time. It’s easy to deprioritise ourselves in order to prioritise others: work; family; responsibilities.

Building momentum, through continually achieving goals you set yourself, can be impossible if you don’t have a framework that will ensure your success.

So today I’m sharing with you the framework for our new course, “Lose 5, Stylise, Organise” to show you how you can set and achieve your personal goals.

The net result is that not only do you achieve your personal goals, but the momentum you create in keeping your word to yourself sets the ball rolling for creating more change and more results that you want to see, but maybe which felt like you were never going to achieve.

Now to be specifc we are talking about three particular goals here:

The first is:

Lose 5lbs

For many years I struggled to stick to a diet of any description because I hadn’t learned to manage my mind. I liked the idea of sticking to a plan, it seemed so simple and straightforward. However sticking to that plan was a lot harder until I discovered how to manage my mind through the process.

Most of us who just need to shift a few pounds don’t need medical intervention to help us lose weight healthily, we just need a structure that will help us get there quickly and easily and a plan to manage our minds when we want to deviate from the structure.

Also I certainly do not want to advocate that women should only feel good about themselves if they maintain a certain weight level or number. I would love us all to be free of  the scales and free from the idea that we have to eat certain foods and certain amounts of food, in order to be acceptable to ourselves.

However, we all feel uncomfortable when we are over our natural weight. Comfort eating is a real thing (chocolate, crisps, wine, cheese….. ). So it’s very easy to put on an extra four pounds that stop us feeling great and make us uncomfortable in our clothes. Losing 5lbs gained over the holidays or through the various lockdowns that we have had can be rejuvenating and energising. It can kick start a renewed zest for life because we all feel so much better when we feel in control of our lives and when we are treating our bodies well.

Maintaining a healthy weight is an easy act of self care that we can give our bodies.

Maybe you know this feeling. You’re happy overall but you’d just like to drop a few pounds, look and feel better in your clothes and then get on with your life!

Our clothes fit better and we feel more energised and enthusiastic about life when we are not carrying around extra weight. 5lbs is a realistic goal and is large enough to make a difference in your clothes and energise you to tackle all other areas of your life too.

The Lose 5 framework

In our new programme, Lose 5, Stylise, Organise, you pick the diet you want to follow and we support you to follow it through to success. You can choose the meat option, the vegetarian option and the mixed option. We know diets work, so just pick the one you want to follow.  We know that diets fail because we don’t stick to them. So we’ll give you the mental tools you need to help you stick to the diet.

In Lose 5, Stylise, Organise we follow a two-week sprint process to get our weight loss well underway, and then we have a two-week phase that ensure you can still lose weight but with a little more flexibility in what you eat and drink.

Stylise

I have so much to say here, but I’ll keep it short and sweet for now and relevant to you. In my years as a designer, each time I created an outfit for my client, they would say something like,

“It’s amazing the transformation you can have when you throw a little time and money at yourself.”

“I can’t believe how great I look. I look like me”.

“This is exactly how I want to look. Thank you”.

Helping women look and feel their best is a passion of mine and it all started when I started designing clothes for private clients.

It’s important to keep a check on where you are in life and if you are reflecting your current life stage in your personal style.

In Lose 5, Stylise, Organise we will take you through the process of recreating your unique style. We will ask questions and encourage you to think deeply about who you are and how you want to show up in the world.

We will spend one week focussing entirely on you and your personal style.  In conjunction with detoxing your wardrobe and organising your personal space these two elements will show you how to become the person you want to be.

To wear clothes each day but not to feel like the person you want to be will only result in you wearing the old, tattered clothes that we default to. Working on your personal style and your personal wardrobe is a mind process and we will take you through the steps needed to make change permanent in your mind.

Finally

Organise

The organise stage of the course is the vital third leg of our three-legged stool! I have written before on the fact that there are more emotions in your wardrobe than clothes.  We dump not only unworn, unwanted clothes in our wardrobes, but also the unwanted, ignored emotions too. Clothes in your wardrobe that are too small and don’t fit will probably create emotions in you to do with being overweight, shame and guilt. Clothes that you last wore in a former time such as when you were married, or the last job you had may also bring up unwanted emotions when you see them.

So each time you open your wardrobe, you are faced with the recreation of all these emotions. Which is exhausting. And will stop you moving forward in your life.

In Lose 5, Stylise, Organise we take all of your clothes and we deal with them. But also, and this is a unique part of our course we also deal with the emotions that are lurking each time you open your wardrobe.

During the course we take a week to deal with all your clothes, to organise your space and make it fit and ready for you as you move on from our time together.

Think of what you could achieve in a month.

Think of the support you will get from us and from other women in the community.

It’s not just about the weight, or the clothes, or being tidy and organised.

It’s about what you think about yourself and what you think you are capable of.
