Freedom in rubber
I have just spent the last couple of days in an out of my wellies, regardless of how I was dressed. Today I sat in a beautiful rural pub, all velvet sofas and art on the wall, in my wellies. I love being in my wellies. They are a sign, to me, of relaxing, of fun, of time out.
Not beautiful, but beautiful
Wellington boots are not beautiful. But they are recognisable. They have an endearing quality. and are worn by all age groups. I wear mine with jeans and also with skirts and dresses. It’s like being child like all over again. There is no pressure when you wear them, just fun. Even with the advent of designer styles and colours the good old welly of whatever shade and style is completely acceptable.
Uniquely democratic
Anyone can wear wellies, any age, either sex, any character-type. They defy categorisation, but they embody freedom. One more day of holiday to go. Get out in your wellies.
